Warren and Jane are great people who have a life time of knowledge, useful tips and great ideas – we cant recommend them enough!’

Mark & Olga Elsbury

Competitive Dancers come to Warren and Jane for different reasons...

  • Some have reached a level where the coaching needs to step up a gear
  • Some dancers need to break a plateau
  • Some dancers want extra refinement and polish
  • Some love Warren and Janes combination of friendliness and professionalism
  • Some want to experience a comprehensive package that is more than just dance coaching
  • Some are looking for extra creativity in their choreography

Whatever reason dancers come to Warren and Jane, and whatever reason you have right now, you can be sure that you have found what you're looking for...

Warren and Jane are high level competitive coaches who teach many of the UK ’s very top Ballroom and Latin American couples. Top International couples also fly in regularly to take lessons. They are equally as successful at training many leading juveniles and juniors.

From the wide base of classes that operate in their Midlands based school, Zig Zag Dance Factory, they have also produced a very successful range of competition dancers throughout the various competitive levels from beginners through novice, intermediate, pre-championship and up to championship.

Indeed, a number of the UK’s top dancers started in the Zig Zag beginners classes with perhaps the most obvious example being Morgan Hemphill –currently the United Kingdom 10 Dance Champion and the British number 1 representative for all European and World Championships ~ dreams can come true and your dream can come true too!

My first major achievement was winning "Stars of the Future' beginners events in both ballroom and latin. At 18 I started dancing with Richard and with the continued advice, help and support of Warren and Jane, our dancing is ever improving. I know that I can always ask them for their honest advice and feedback. They are personable, fun, knowledgeable and somehow manage to run a huge, sucessful school that still has its family atmosphere! They are definitely a unique find!'

In the interest of developing their students even further, to gain different views and to communicate high level learning in different styles, Warren and Jane also have a range of other famous specialist teachers who come to teach at our studios to help give you that extra edge – many of whom have been former World and British Champions including Alex & Lisa Ivanets, Lynn Marriner, Lisa Darby, Craig Draper and Snezhana Sheviakova, Stan Page, Carole Smythe, Christopher Short, Hannes Emrich, Amy Bennett.

‘I started in Warren & Jane’s beginner classes at 14.  I never thought I would be able to make it this far this quickly.   Their encouragement and belief in me has given me the confidence I needed and I feel lucky to be a pupil of theirs. Their guidance, knowledge and friendship has been amazing through both the ups and downs of competing.’ - Ben Jones

Warren and Jane are two of the most popular people seen on the adjudicating circuit where they are regularly seen judging at many of the UK ’s ranking competitions.  This is extremely useful to their own couples as it enables Warren and Jane to compare them with their rivals and to see how their own couples perform in competition – which as we all know, can be very different to how they dance in a lesson!

Warren & Jane also specialize in choreographing show dance routines.  They were trained by none other than head judge of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ , Len Goodman who become famous for his imaginative cabaret routines and spectacular lifts. Today, they are greatly in demand as show dance choreographers and have become renowned for their contemporary, unusual and creative ideas from a dramatic and contemporary Paso Doble to 'The Matrix' or an emotional and chilling Waltz to "Beauty and the Beast'. You can be sure that your show routine would be one to enhance your reputation, increase your exposure and help generate more shows.

‘Warren & Jane are not only great teachers who have improved our dancing, they have become mentors and great friends to us, who have helped, understood, and advised us on the many aspects that make a complete couple.

Philippa Amer

Warren and Jane's profile sees them attract regular enquiries and bookings for dancers for film, television, modelling, corporate opportunities and demonstrations which could assist you in financing your career.

For those couples wishing to progress their career in to other areas of dance, Warren and Jane are happy to support amateurs who register on the EADA Coaching Scheme by providing teaching opportunities to help further their knowledge and support them financially.

‘I initially started dancing in the all girls section.  Warren & Jane helped me find male partners and I have now been able to progress to youth and amateur championship level.  I think everyone knows this really is the best school to make people’s careers take off – thanks for the honesty and opportunities you have given me.’

its not only the great lessons we learn so much from but also the support and advice we get from Warren and Jane. Whether its costumes, image, competition tactics or just someone to talk things through with that makes them so special'

Ben Jones in 'Strictly Mexico'

Zig Zag pupil Ben Jones has recently finished filming the Mexican version of

'Strictly Come Dancing' in Mexico City.

See his journey here and video clips below.

We get a vast variety of corporate shows, events and TV programmes that we pass to our pupils...next time it could be you!

The story so far....we were contacted by a London casting agency to supply a dancer, and choreographer for the Mexican version of Striclty Come Dancing - called....Dancing for a Dream.    A number of our pupils applied but in the end Ben and fellow dancer and friend, Vicky Bissell got the job.

The format is a little different from 'Strictly' with 10 teams from 10 different countries each representing a Mexican family who have previously written in with their dream.   If the family's allocated team win, then they get their dream all paid for and arranged by the TV company.  Each team comprises of a professional dancer (Ben), an assistant choreographer (Vicky) and a celebrity (Charlie Bruce - winner of 'So You Think You Can Dance' TV programme) - this makes up Team England.

The TV company pays their flights, hotel, food and laundry and gives them a top apartment in a 5 star hotel and pays them their wages.  Not bad eh?

Other countries in the show are Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Romania, South Africa, USA, France, Spain and Mexico.

The live show is broadcast on Sundays ( it starts at 1.00am our time and can be viewed on the internet)  The show has been pulling in 25 million viewers each week!!!   Ben has to do lots of interviews, photo shoots and participate in the Take 2 equivelent programme which goes out 5 nights per week as well as fit in his training.

Ben's celebrity partner, Charlie became injured after the first programme and was unable to train for most of that week which meant that Ben would have to perform disco with Vicky.  Literally 30 seconds before they were due to go on, Charlie announced she was going to do the routine with Ben instead of Vicky.  She certainly didnt look injured as she somersaulted and did the splits (i cant even do that when i'm fit never mind injured!)  After some differences with the producers of the show, Charlie was flown home leaving Ben without a partner.

Initially, Ben was told he would have to miss out week 3 and would have to go into the dance off on the following week when his new partner arrived, and would have to dance for his survival.  However, only a few days before the show, Ben was then told this was not allowed and he would have to dance solo!   His dances that week were Merangue and Argentine Tango.   A very difficult task indeed.

To be honest, there is no way that a Merangue could look convincing on your own and then when the producers said he would have to dance with a dressmakers dummy, we did shudder!   Ben gave a gutsy performance and did a great job but the dance was poorly received by the judges.   His Argentine Tango however came over really well and he scored highly.

The poor marks in the Merangue sadly have left Ben in the bottom two for this weeks show.  Its England versus a very strong USA...one team has to go on Sunday!

Latest news....Ben's new partner, Lizzie Gough has arrived in Mexico this week.  Lizzie came 3rd in 'So You Think You Can Dance' and has started practicing their 'dance off' dance....the Argentine Tango.

In a sudden turn of events, Ben has complained that Team Argentina broke the rules on last Sundays show by doing 4 lifts in their routine when the rules say it has to be a maximum of 3.   Argentina then in turn complained about Team Romania who also did 4 lifts.   As of now, there are 4 teams now in Sundays 'dance off' and the producers have decided to change the dance as Argentina and Romania havnt had as much time to prepare.  Sundays 'dance off' dance will be Rock n Roll.   Who will go? Argentina, Romania, USA or England?  The surviving three teams will also have to perform Salsa and 'rain downpour' dance as part of this weeks show.

Ben has a really tough job this week, 3 dances to prepare and a brand new partner he has not danced with before - we all have our fingers crossed!

Come on ENGLAND!

Ben and Lizzie performed their 'rain downpour' dance choreographed in Lizzie's favourite dance style of Streetdance.  England judge Stewart Bishop felt it would be a good idea although we had our reservations back home thinking that a Paso Doble might work well.  Unfortunately, the dance was poorly received by the judges who just didnt seem to 'get it' and Ben ended up bottom of the leader board on the first dance.

The programme then showed footage of Ben making his complaint against Argentina which we doubt made him any friends, and then he had to perform his 'dance off' dance of Rock n Rol.

Sadly, Ben was voted off by the judges and so didnt get to perform his Salsa.   He did have some bad luck - an injured partner, then no partner at all, then a new partner, changing dances etc but thats just the way it goes sometimes.

Ben did a great job and made many admirers.   We are extremely proud of him and wish him even greater success in the future.  He is now back in the UK training hard for his next series of competitions.
